The name of Sinaloa comes from a term used in Cahita language that means "Pitahaya Redonda" (Rounded Pitaya), a fruit typical of region.
The conquest of Sinaloa began 1531 by the spaniards headed by Nuño Beltrán de Guzmán.

Sinaloa is located next to Baja California, South Baja California, Sonora and Nayarit. It's part of the economic region Northeast of México and its borders are the extreme coordenates 22 29' and 27 03' North Latitude and 105 23' and 109 27' west longitude.

The State of Sinaloa, located in the Mexican Northwest, in the narrow coastal plain between the Sierra Madre and the Pacific Ocean. It offers a rich variety of beautiful natural landscapes.

With many differents climates, an extraordinary abundance of water and a very rich farming land, the State has many fully developed ecosystems: from the rain forest in the south, to the temperate climate of the Sierra Madre.

Hundreds of miles of sunny tropical beaches estuaries, rich and productive agricultural valleys. Sinaloa is home to a wide biodiversity, with species of great cinegetic value: goose, duck, dove and quail.
